Community Guidelines

1. Be respectful

Debate films freely, but do not harass, threaten, or demean other people. Hate speech, targeted abuse, and bullying are not allowed.

2. No sexual or nude imagery

Do not upload nude, sexual, or pornographic images as avatars, post attachments, or other profile media. Automated checks may reject uploads that appear to violate this rule.

3. No illegal or harmful content

Do not post content that is illegal, that exploits or endangers minors, that promotes violence, or that encourages criminal activity. Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is strictly prohibited. See our Child Safety Standards. We treat reports of illegal content seriously and may remove content and restrict accounts.

4. No spam, scams, or impersonation

Don't flood feeds with repetitive posts, phishing links, or misleading promotions. Don't impersonate another person, brand, or organization.

5. Respect copyright

Don't share pirated films, unauthorized downloads, or other material you don't have rights to distribute. Talking about movies is fine; distributing copyrighted media is not.

6. Spoilers

Spoiler discussion is part of film culture, but don't deliberately spoil major plot points without a clear warning when it would ruin someone else's experience. Repeated bad-faith spoiling may be moderated.

7. Image uploads

Images you upload (avatars and post images) are processed before they go live. Processing may include compression and automated scanning for prohibited visual content. Images that fail these checks will not be published.

8. Enforcement

Depending on severity and history, we may:

• Reject an upload
• Remove a post, review, or other content
• Limit account features
• Suspend or permanently ban an account

We review reports within 24 hours. When a report is upheld, we remove the content and restrict or ban the account that posted it. Moderators may remove content for reasons including spam, harassment, sexual content, spoilers without warning, piracy, impersonation, or other violations.

9. Reporting and blocking

In the Slate app, use Report on a post, review, comment, profile, or conversation, or go to Settings → Report a safety concern. You can also Block a user from those same places and manage blocked accounts in Settings → Blocked users. On the web, contact support at hudbloom@gmail.com or visit our Support page. Include links, screenshots, and the relevant username when possible.
