Child Safety Standards

Slate is a movie discovery and social app. We have a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). These standards apply to the Slate app, website, and related services. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
1. Prohibited content and conduct
Users may not create, upload, share, request, or distribute:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including any sexualized depiction of a minor
- Content that sexualizes, grooms, exploits, or endangers children
- Content that solicits sexual material involving a minor, or that facilitates meetings or contact for that purpose
- Links, instructions, or discussion that promote CSAE or help others find, create, or share CSAM
A child or minor means anyone under 18. This prohibition applies even if the content is fictional, AI-generated, or claimed to be artistic.
2. Age requirement
Slate is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13 to create an account. If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we will block access and delete associated personal information as required by law.
3. How we address CSAM
When we obtain actual knowledge of CSAM or other CSAE content on Slate, we take action that may include:
- Removing the content immediately
- Suspending or permanently banning the account
- Preserving records as required for legal or safety reasons
- Reporting confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) or the relevant regional authority
Images uploaded to Slate (such as profile photos and post images) may be compressed and scanned before they are published. Images that fail these checks are not published.
4. Reporting CSAE
If you see content on Slate that may involve child sexual abuse or exploitation, report it immediately. Include links, screenshots, usernames, and any other details that help us find the content.
In the Slate app, go to Settings → Report a safety concern. That in-app form submits a report to our moderation team without leaving the app. You can also email privacy@slatefilm.app or hudbloom@gmail.com, or use our Support page.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. To report CSAM found outside Slate, use NCMEC CyberTipline or your regional child-protection authority.
5. Child safety point of contact
For notices from Google Play, law enforcement, or others about CSAE content on Slate, contact:

6. Legal compliance
Slate complies with applicable child safety laws. We will cooperate with lawful requests from authorities and report confirmed CSAM as required, including to NCMEC or the relevant regional authority.
